Sep 2015-Mar 2016 ESL Teacher, the High School Affiliated with Beijing Technical University, Beijing, China Taught grades 9-10 in the fundamentals of speaking, reading and writing the English language. Utilized new technology to enhance teaching abilities and student comprehension. Introduced new methods to enrich the curriculum and develop pupil knowledge. Worked closely with department heads to coordinate new teaching ideas. Taught 20 classes per week totaling 1,000 students I also helped with extra-curricular activities with my students such as field trips and role playing exercises to offer real world experience with the English language. Also English plays that help students gain a historical feel of culture. July-August, 2015 Foreign Teacher/Supervisor, New Oriental Education, Beijing, China Coordinated summer camp curriculum with foreign teaching staff, implemented an accelerated immersion program for middle and high school students from multiple provinces around China. 2014-2015 ESL Teacher, Beijing #17 Middle School, Beijing, China As a positive person and a true self-starter, I was the first English teacher at this award winning public school. Milestones included acting as team member to maximize the curriculum development efforts for grades 7, 8 and 10; adding to task and time management skills for my students, and enhancing core texts for a solid foundation of comprehension. I also attended field trips to help express alternative methods of learning and set directives for the creation of weekly lesson plans. I taught 28 classes per week with a total of 600 students. 2013-2014 English Teacher, RISE Immersion English, Beijing, China Worked as an English Teacher instructing students in speaking, reading and writing the English language. I utilized PBL (project based learning) to teach life skills such as saving money and time management. Understanding American culture was also included in my lesson plans. Other classroom tools provided by RISE included programs by Riverdeep Interactive Learning with textbooks by Houghton, Mifflin & Harcourt. 2013 English Teacher, Language House, Wangjing, China Worked as an English Teacher instructing students in speaking, reading and writing the English language. 2010-2012 Teacher, Valley Vista Elementary School, Chicago, IL I started my internship at Valley Vista as a teacher’s assistant. In 2011, I began teaching my own second grade classroom. Daily activities included math, science, reading, writing and language arts. American text books such as Houghton, Mifflin & Harcourt were essential to teaching on a daily basis. Creating new ideas from the materials on-hand in order to make teaching fun was what I took from this job.
