衡阳市八中简介 学校创建于1907年，其前身为私立成章中学，素有“湘南名校”之称，1953年更名为衡阳市第八中学，曾四次确定为湖南省重点中学，1994年成为湖南省首批挂牌重点中学，1998年，创办成章实验中学，开衡阳“名校办民校”先河；2002年成为全国百所知名重点中学；2003年湖南省首次教育督导评估中，综合得分位居全省第三，被誉为“湖南省重点中学的领头羊”。2004年成为省首批挂牌示范性高中。2005年、2007年、2009年及2011年四度被评为“全国百强中学”。2006年7月15日，根据省市有关文件精神，成章实验中学从八中剥离，成立“五独立”的股份制民办学校，市八中占49％股份，成为湖南省首家改制到位的学校。2009年成为全国百所特色高中。2010年荣膺全国首届“中学百年名校”殊荣，成为全国获此荣誉的50所学校之一、湖南省仅3所学校。 Established in 1907, the school had the former body as private Chengzhang Middle School, which was known as the “Famous School of Southern Hunan”. In 1953, it was changed into the No.8 Middle School of Hengyang and had been rewarded as the point middle school of Hunan Province for 4 times. In 1994, it was among the first batch of listing key middle schools. In 1998, it established Chengzhang Experimental Middle School, exploring the landscape of “private schools that established by renowned schools”. In 2002, it ranked among the global hundred renowned middle schools. In the first education assessment of Hunan Province in 2003, it ranked the provincial third in the comprehensive scores and was rewarded as “the leader of Hunan Key Middle Schools”. In 2004, it was in the first batch of provincial listing demonstration middle high schools and been rewarded as the “National Top 100 Middle School”. On July, 15, 2006, based on the spirits in relevant documents of the city and the province, Chengzhang Experimental Middle School was detached from the No.8 Middle School to become the joint-stock private school of “5 independencies” with 49% shares held by No.8 Middle School, becoming the first school of Hunan Province that succeeded in its reformation. In 2009, it became the “National Hundred Middle High School of Features”. In 2010, it obtained the honor of national first “Renowned Hundred-year Middle School” and became one of the 50 schools in the country and one of the 3 schools in the province that won this honor. 学校占地150亩，校舍面积6万多平方米，教学和生活设施基本配套成龙，教学区、生活区、运动区相对独立。学校现有54个高中教学班，3300余学生。学校师资力量雄厚，拥有了一支全市乃至全省一流的师资队伍，现有在职教职工226人，其中特级教师6人，研究生学历10人，省市骨干教师16人，校内和市内学科带头人15人，获国省市表彰的优秀教师36人，另聘请外籍教师3人。 Covering an area of 150 acres and over 60 thousand square meters of building area, the school is well equipped with teaching and living facilities and the comparatively independent teaching, living and sports areas.
