Care Service Assistant
Providing an extensive range of health and social person centred care, based on the Eden Alternative to dependent older people in accordance with policies and procedures. Avante Care and Support is a major provider of quality residential and community care for older people and those with dementia and other mental health type conditions in Kent and South East London.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
To support and encourage the wellbeing of residents and to identify any changes that may be required in the care and support provided.
To ensure that each resident is empowered to be at the forefront of decision making that affects their daily life, and to encourage them to maintain engagement with relatives, friends and the local community.
Assist and escort residents in community engagement, including medical appointments and other community activities.
Complete care plans and the necessary paperwork for each resident as required.
Attend and contribute to team briefings, meetings with senior staff and other professional groups at case conferences, reviews etc when required.
Assist residents in all activities of daily life.
Support with the induction of training and new staff.

Plan and supervise activties; arts and crafts, music and reading.
Assist children with learning numeracy and language skills.
Read stories and provide activities to develop the childrens skills.
Observing children and taking notes for use in report writing.
Ensure that all children are safe and well at all times (safeguarding).
Report any concerns to managager, ie signs of abuse.
Monitoring progress and sharing information about the development of the child to parents/teachers.
Charity Fundraiser – MACMILLAN CANCER TRUST

Skydive in Headcorn, Kent in tribute to late grandad, raising over £1,000 given to the trust.
Organising activities and developing new and imaginative fundraising activities.
Raising awareness of the charities being funded by developing and coordinating web-based fundraising using social media.
