• Lived here for a total of a year and a half; this means I can comfortably live and work in
China without any difficulty.
• Tutored Chinese students spoken English at the University for a few hours a week.
• Have worked in England for a year after graduation and therefore accustomed to full time
work and all the demands and pressures it brings.

Education
British Council Scholarship: September 2015 - January 2016
I am currently participating in a prestigious British government funded scholarship to study
in China. This has included a two month intensive mandarin course at Tianjin international Chinese
college (天津国际汉语学院) and a further three months studying at Tianjin Polytechnic University
(天津工业大学). The course of study at Tianjin Polytechnic includes various modules pertaining to
the economy of China and further Mandarin lessons. I am currently preparing to take HSK 5 and
expect to pass it in a few month's time.
University of Nottingham: Autumn 2011 - Summer 2014
I have achieved a 2.1 Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Chinese Studies. I spent the 1st and
3rd year of my degree in the University of Nottingham's campus in England and spent the 2nd year at
the University of Nottingham's Campus in Ningbo, Zhejiang province. The modules I have studied
include: Advanced Mandarin Chinese; Advanced Quantitative Methods; 10,000 word Dissertation
on the rural-urban divide in China; Research Methods; Communications and censorship in China
and the Chinese legal system.
Shanghai Jiaotong University 5 Week Summer School: Summer 2013
Intensive spoken Chinese course in which I achieved 95% and extra-curricular calligraphy
classes.
