Wuhan No.1 High School (China): September 2014 – Present
Assisting with the writing and reading components of the SAT. I also prepared students not going to the USA for the oral section of the IELTS. Teaching writing, reading, and speaking to prepare the students for their education abroad. Organizing English Corners once a week in order to get the students involved in international culture.
Talking Street English (China): January 2013 – June 2013
Working as an English teacher for university students and business professionals involved in foreign trade. I also gave open lectures on Saturday on subjects involving American culture which I had to prepare and were designed for students of all levels.
Sesame (South Korea): July 2011 – December 2012
Worked as an English teacher for grades 3 – 6 at three public schools in Korea and the international library in Songdo. I was responsible for planning daily lessons and teaching coversational English. The class-size ranged from 5 – 25. I also helped to negotiate contracts in order for us to begin English programs in new schools or libraries.
KGV English School (South Korea): July 2010- July 2011 Working as the primary (non-Korean) English teacher for grades 3-8. I managed the classroom, planned daily lessons, and taught conversational English and grammar. I was responsible for writing quarterly grade reports for all of my students.
Clayton Homes: July 2009-July 2010
Inspected military barracks for quality. This entailed memorizing blueprints, understanding international fire/plumbing codes and ensuring that all construction was to standard. I had to work with personnel of all ages, positions, and skills in order to ensure that the job was completed to the highest possible quality standards.
Melissa (Independent School District) Teacher: August 2008- December 2008
Teaching grades 7 thru 12 in subjects English, history, art, and drama. The amount of students per class ranged from 20 – 30 students.
Concierge Department: October 2007 – June 2009
Working for several hotel chains (including Marriott Int’l.) in the Austin area that enhanced my skills in customer service. I built strong leadership skills by acting as a team-player, training new employees, and adapting to changes within the department.
