Responsibilities: I taught English at the university as part of Peace Corps Ukraine’s TEFL program. I taught TEFL classes at both the Foreign Languages and English Departments. My classes ranged from basic English lessons (which focused on reading and writing) to full 90 minute lectures on a wide range of topics including comparison between British and American English, American System of Education, European and American history, Post-Soviet Ukraine, U.S. Congress, and Tourism in the US. In conjunction with the lectures, students were required to prepare written papers on the presentation which I reviewed and provided feedback.

Guest Lecturer: Gave two major lectures for Foreign Languages Department to about 200 students each. Topics were split into two themes – America’s National Parks and American Architecture. Post-lecture students were engaged to participant in a question and answer session about the presentation.

Responsibilities: I taught English at the secondary level (High School) as part of the Peace Corps TEFL program. I taught regular lessons on a daily basis as part of the normal school curriculum. Lesson included instruction on proper English grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing.
PROMOVY ADULT ENGLISH LANGUAGE SCHOOL, Uman, Ukraine

Responsibilities: Teaching English to adults age 21 to 50. Taught regular classes on Friday and Saturday covering topics from English grammar to world history and current events. Each 90 minute lesson engaged the students to use and improve their English listening, reading and speaking skills.

Responsibilities: My primary role was to instruct the first year law students on legal writing. Each lesson included instruction on proper methods of writing in terms of proper English, vocabulary, grammar, clarity and structure. There were weekly writing exercises as well as three major writing assignments which include writing a “factual” memorandum, “objective “ memorandum and “persuasive” memorandum.

Responsibilities: Teaching English to young learners. Teach ESL classes to children ages 6 to 17 years old. Focus on listening, reading, and writing and vocabulary skills. Teenagers are regularly required to present written assignments both in class and for homework for grades and feedback.
