GAC Program, Shanghai, China Director of Studies & Office Manager - I was in charge of a teaching staff of 5 foreign teachers, and 11 Chinese teachers, The Global Assessment Certificate™ (GAC) program is an internationally recognized university preparation program for students who do not have English as their first language. It is a product of ACT Education Solutions, Limited.
- My duties include organizing the classes, managing the teaching staff and moderating the end of term performances of all of the academic classes for each level with the Regional manager in order to ensure that our students achievements are internationally recognized with the standards of the GAC headquarters.
March 2015 – September 2015 Wenqi Middle School, Shanghai, China English Skills Teacher - I taught grade 6, 7 & 8 students both listening and speaking with an emphasis on writing structure.
- My duties included preparing and implementing my own lessons and lesson plans, creating the final examination, which follows the basic IELTS model.
· The students were exposed to various information that allows them to interact and hold a conversation with people on numerous currently relevant material. Specific examples could be the TED.com talks that I showed to the students on a biweekly basis in order to ensure that the knowledge they were learning was not out of date. September 2011 – March 2015 Wuxi South Ocean College, China Head of English Department · I was in charge of a teaching team of 6 teachers. Our program taught undergraduate students who have already been pre approved for the next two years of study at a Sister University in Australia, Ireland, or in the United States. · I completely redesigned all of the courses and how they were implemented. As a result of my redesigning the courses. · The courses offered were a mix of IELTS, TOEFL, English skills and Business classes. · Additionally I analyzed and evaluated the department professors, their performances, professional development, and took appropriate action in response to any issues that arose. July 2011 – August 2011 Hangzhou, Xiaoshan #6 High School, China English Teacher - This was an intensive summer school position whereby students were immersed in an English environment to help them adapt to the future plans of travelling abroad.
· I was also expected to help design the large scale cultural activities and actively take part in cultural activities. · I was teaching Reading, Writing, Listening, Conversational English, to senior high school students. March 2010 – June 2011 Wenzhou University, China Professor of Business and English · I was teaching Reading, Writing, Listening, Conversational English, Debating English, and Business English, Marketing, Business Negotiation to undergraduate and post graduate students. · I used textbooks from McGraw – Hill as well as the Cutting Edge series of books。 · Prepared students for the GDE English examination, as well as the Governmental Chinese English proficiency tests. October 2009 – March 2010 Gulliver International Language School, Czech Republic Agentura Prolingua, Czech Republic Thomas Cook, Czech Republic Business English Tutor · I was teaching Business English to various Executives, Managers and Government officials at companies such as O2, T-mobile, GMC technologies, Raffieiensen Bank, and at the regional government office of Pardubice Region. · Prepared students for the Cambridge English test as well as for the First Certificate in English test. June 2009 – October 2009 Central Park, Spain English Teacher · Taught at all levels from beginners to advanced and at ages from 4 years to adults. · I taught students in order to pass the Trinity oral examinations. · I was also selected to teach classes to a number of local companies, including Nuclenor (Nuclear power station), Fuasa (Aeronautics Firm), Talleres Mac (boiler manufacturer) and Interbay (Steel manufacturer). March 2009 – May 2009 St. Joseph’s College School, Australia High School English/ Geography/ History Teacher · I was the History, Geography, English Lit, Poetry and Social Sciences teacher. · I was commended on my continual effort to integrate more media than previously available to many of the other teachers. September 2008 – December 2008 Urangan State High School, Australia · I taught SOSE as well as geography to both junior and senior levels. · My primary duties involved scheduling, planning and implementing lessons in order to coincide with state governmental guidelines. Sept 2006 – May 2007 Shinas College, Oman English Professor · I worked as an English Professor teaching conversational English to adult students. · My primary duties involved scheduling and proctoring all of the various examinations as well as lending my insight into the composition of the final examinations. · Scheduling various classes and developing a comprehensive and stimulating lesson plan that would both interest and aid the students with their understanding of the English language. · I was in the classroom approximately 25 hours a week. April 2005 – December 2005 North Coal Medical College, China English Professor · I taught Oral Conversational English with an emphasis on western development to first year, second year, third year and graduate students · I was given complete control of my classroom and built and developed various courses which incorporated both PowerPoint and other multi media aids during my class. June 2005 – August 2005 Tangshan Polytechnic University, China · I worked as a Professor teaching an intensive summer school course on English and Western Culture. · I taught students of all ages. This was a prototype course that was available to any student registered at the University. |
